This week enjoy using these free printable open string flashcards with your beginners. For best results, print on card stock and then laminate to make the set durable. Each student can have a set to use for home practice.
Besides quizzing students in the traditional flashcard manner, students can answer by playing the correct string instead of just saying the letter. Use the cards as questions with the Twinkle Starship board game. Shuffle multiple sets of cards and line them up for students to play either pizzicato or arco. Students can also use several sets of cards to "compose" open string pieces.
These flashcards are also available as a digital deck on Quizlet. Students can see how fast they can match the open strings to the letter name with the Match option, try out the Learn mode for review and reinforcement, or play Gravity (an all-time favorite in my studio).
Teaching and reinforcing simple skills is so important for beginners of all ages. Let me know in the comments below how you'd like to use the open string flashcards or share your ideas with me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
